POPE SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 1972, the Pope Scholarship Fund has awarded over $170,000 in financial aid to 80 deserving students at colleges and universities in North and South Carolina. Honoring the memory of industry pioneer Claude E. Pope, the scholarships are available to college students pursuing studies in mortgage banking, finance, or a related field. These scholarships are solely funded by donations from members and fundraising activities organized by the Scholarship and Recognition Committee.
Requirements and Eligibility
The Pope Scholarship targets students focusing on mortgage banking or mortgage-financing studies, such as real estate, banking, and economics. Applicants must Please provide a statement detailing why you believe you deserve the scholarship along with your future career aspirations.

Applicants must be rising juniors in a 4-year accredited college or university in North Carolina or South Carolina. Children of MBAC members are eligible, but parental contributions will not influence selection.
Applicants must reside in North Carolina or South Carolina and can attend a college or university in either state.
Financial need will not impact the committee's decision.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, but grades are just one aspect of the application review.
Include a certified transcript and a suitable photograph with your application. Incomplete applications without transcripts will not be considered by the committee.
Each winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship distributed in four equal installments during their junior and senior years.
Applications must reach and be submitted to MBAC scholarship committee by July 31.
